18 Teal
18 Teal finished the weekend in the silver bracket with a 3-2 record. Coach Megan commented, “Our defense made some great plays throughout the weekend, making it possible for us to optimize our middles. We were able to find holes in opponents’ defenses using the pull set, which was such a great translation of what we’ve been learning in practice!”
18 White
18 White killed it this weekend! First tournament started the season off strong with a 3-2 finish. We persevered through injury and people playing in positions they may not normally train. We kept all of our sets close and had a lot of fun, competitive weekend in Rock Hill. Coach Ty couldn’t emphasize enough how excited she is to continue to grow the talent on this team.
17 Teal
17 Teal had a very solid first tournament. We took the team that ended up winning the whole thing, to 27-25 in set 1 when we competed in pool play on Saturday. We faced a little adversity on Sunday being down a middle but adjusted nicely and ended on a high! There were lots of great pushes and pulls throughout the weekend and our tough serving was a real highlight! Coach Emma had this to say, “Lots of great data to take into practice. We’re going to continue to improve, no doubt.”
16 Teal
16 Teal came out of Rock Hill with a greater understanding of the important decision making piece of playing volleyball. We learned how the pieces of our team fit together and will continue working to optimize our strengths. The competitiveness this weekend, especially on out-of-system plays, was a great showing of what we have been working on in practices. We’re super excited to work this week in practice on more game play and really bring it to City of Oaks!
14 Teal
We’re so proud of 14 Teal’s first tournament of the season (and for some, their first club tournament EVER)! 14 Teal kept every set and match close and competitive. We ended the tournament on a positive note, winning the last match. The girls adjusted nicely to a variety of line ups and were never called out of rotation (yay!). We were able to gather some stats and mental notes from the weekend to help us structure what works going into City of Oaks this weekend. Coach Mo is very excited to see the growth from tournament to tournament.
